Mr. John Phillips

John Phillips is currently the Executive Director of the Social Development Policy Office, Ministry of Health in Victoria, BC. In this role, he provides leadership and management of policy and program issues that require cross-ministry collaboration and planning. John also lends operational and policy support to the Deputy Minister and Associate Deputy Minister in relation to the Deputy Minister's Committee on Social Development.

In the early 1990's, in the framework of Continuing Care, he was involved in establishing community health services for people with developmental disabilities to support the closure of both the Woodlands and Glendale institutions. These were specialized home nursing care and rehabilitation support services. John has recently been involved in policy development related to integrating services for children and youth with special needs.

John attended the University of Western Ontario, where he obtained a Bachelor of Social Work and then completed his MA in Social Policy and Administration at McMaster University.
