Dr. Chris McBride

Chris McBride is the Managing Director of ICORD, the world's largest and broadly based spinal cord injury (SCI) research centre. Chris obtained his PhD in Neuroscience from UBC, where his research focuses on the molecular events underlying the secondary degenerative response following spinal cord injury. In addition to his role with ICORD, Chris is Managing Director of the Rick Hansen SCI Translational Research Network, and is an executive member of the Rick Hansen Solutions In Motion Alliance, a national SCI network comprised of consumers, health and community service providers and researchers, who are working together to provide customized solutions for people with SCI. He is also Co-Chair of the Rick Hansen Wheels In Motion Vancouver Event, an annual community celebration and fundraiser for SCI quality of life and research initiatives.
