Bio:

Dr. Rob Lees, R.Psych has been the Chair of the Provincial Working Group on Parental Mental Illness, a community of practice dedicated to raising awareness about the needs of families where the parent suffers from mental illness. The group, meeting since 1998, has been intereted in promoting the development of policies, protocols between those in the field, practices (such as Ulysses Agreements) and programs (such as "Kids in Control").

Disability Health Area of Focus:

Mental Illness and family care/collaborative practice. The website www.parentalmentalillness.org contains a number of resources related to this area, including a (free) manual for community development and education, a (free) book for children "Someone in My Family Has a Mental Illness" and a (free) template for developing a Ulyssess Agreement.
